CHAMPAGNE!

Cute cheap flats from Old Navy.  Nautical and Patriotic....they scream summer and make me want to frolic somewhere in Nantucket while eating a slice of watermelon.  Or a lobster roll - yes  make that a lobster roll.  I don't really wear flats like this...it's either flip flops, heels, or boots, sometimes converse.  Still...I want these.

 $25-$30

Toad Hollow wine...I love Mr. Toad and all thing frogs (especially Mr. Toad's Wild Ride).  I saw it on sale for $9 at Von's...I might need to snag a bottle.  Anything with frog on the front, drinking a classy glass of chardonnay can't be bad, can it?

DKNY Pink Macaron perfume!!!  Top notes include kumquat, middle notes are pomegranate and marzipan and base notes are amber and tonka bean.  What the hell is a tonka bean you ask?  According to wikipedia, a tonka bean is "reminiscent of vanillaalmondscinnamon, and cloves."  YUM.  I never (and I mean NEVER) buy perfumes but I want this one.  I also want Cartier but that price tag is far too rich for my blood.  One day.....sigh....

Trader Joe's dark chocolate bar with caramel and black sea salts.  I have been in love with this for a while but am just now writing about it.  PLEASE BUY IT IMMEDIATELY!  Read about it more HERE!  I am obsessed with all things salted caramel and this did not disappoint.

And it's packaging??? DUH!  I would have bought it regardless of the flavor just because it has cool packaging...Bravo TJ's!!!

Linzo says: I'm sure I would have added the Trader Joe's cookie butter to the list but it's sold out at my local Tj's...wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - as snooki would say.

Chandeliers

I've had my mind set on a chandelier print ever since an awful room mate of mine had one up and took it when she moved.  I kind of miss the print (even though the colors didn't match our living room), definitely don't miss her.  I looked on Etsy for a chandelier print but they are all SOOOO expensive (but gorge none the less). I have a million pics of chandeliers that I've taken at random places so figured I'd edit them myself and print them out at Costco.  It may not be a canvas print but it's super inexpensive! Plus, grab some cheap frames from Michael's (they're always having a sale) and you're GTG (Good To Go)!

Taken at my friend's wedding in Austin, TX at the Mansion at Judge's Hill.

From Icenhauer's...a really cool little bar on Rainey St. in downtown Austin.

This one is from my hotel room at the The St. Regis New York when I was there Feb. 2009.

Took them at the Americana this December...

Inside Gilly Hicks - I LOVE this place and it's decor!

This one was randomly hanging somewhere outside over the street.

Marilyn

I have a thing for Marilyn.  The way she looked in particular but also her fascinating life and her marriages.  Did you know that Joe DiMaggio sent red roses to her grave every week for 20 years after she died?

Photo Shoot with my sis with one of the original camera phones...circa 2003?  Yep- that's me!

I'm not talking the neon Andy Warhol-esque Marilyn but just classic black and white.  She is the original bombshell...what's not to love?!

Drinking and dancing in the living room?  Hmmm...I've been channeling her all along...

So speaking of Marilyn, I am dying to see this...I'm sure it's not even in the theater anymore.  Red box it is!

My Week With Marilyn

I honestly cannot believe I haven't seen this.  I've seen most of the Marilyn Monroe made for TV movies...the ones with Poppy Montgomery and Ashley Judd seem to stick out.  Also- I didn't always like Michelle Williams...but once she started dating Heath Ledger I warmed up to her.  Jen Lindley NO THANKS!  Plus Julia Ormond as Vivien Leigh?! Her expression in the pic below is PERFECT.  It's Vivien's "Scarlett" face...with the one eyebrow slightly raised.  Need to see ASAP.

You are my sunshine...

I'm not one for those kitchy inspirational signs...you know the ones with quotes on them.  I generally find them cheesy.  I like quotes and I'm all for them but sticking "Live, Love, Laugh" decals on my wall just ain't my thang.

There are, however, some exceptions...

Yes, those are The Pioneer Woman's books next to Snooki's...don't judge I love them both.

I own these because they're true and I truly truly TRULY believe in the happiness one.  Your greatest happiness comes when you are not looking and least expect it.  OK- enough cheese.

OK just a little more....I want this one too :)

I saw this on Pinterest...which I refuse to get but really want.  Apparently I have to have the Facebook timeline to use it?  No thank you!

lunching in laguna

If and when you ever find yourself in Laguna Beach...go to the Cliff Bar!  It's tiny friendly (dog friendly) and has an insanely cheap happy hour for the location and pretty delish food.  Might I suggest the Have'a Chips nachos?  Have'a Chips with white cheddar and fresh pico de gallo.  OMG!  Plus, can't beat the view!

December

HAPPY 2012!

November got away from me apparently (oops guess it just got lost) and there is never time in December.
December = work.work.work.

Plus...Hanukkah, Christmas, my big birthday, then New Years.  JEEEEEEEZ!  It's January now, I can get back on a diet and have a normal life.  THANK GOD!

This December...I bought my (technically our) first real Christmas tree, got an iphone for Chrismakkah, took 2 mini trips to LA, went to an ugly sweater party, had a Chrismakkuh party with latkes and matzohball soup, went to Vegas to celebrate my birthday, went on a gondola ride in Huntington Beach Harbor and out in Laguna Beach for New Years Eve.  Oh- and I also WON the Championship in my Fantasy Football League...NBD (cue "when the saints go marching in" but change saints to geese).  Man I love Drew Brees!

Tiniest tree ever...

Mini trips up to LA....once to go see Steve Ranasizzi, from The League (BEST.SHOW.EVER.), at the Hollywood Improv (and made a vaycay out of it by staying at the Sheraton downtown and going to The Grove) and the other to go see "Wicked" at the Pantages and another shopping trip at the Glendale Americana.  Both of these malls are phenomenal and made the holiday hustle and bustle was somewhat enjoyable...it was amazing to be able enjoy the holiday cheerfulness away from work.  I can't tell you the last time I went "Christmas shopping" and enjoyed it as much as I did this year.  Maybe it was the company I was with (duhh!) but despite being broke all the time and busy and in a bah-humbug mood from my job, I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday season.

The Grove...we saw Extra filming and Dermot Mulroney.

Glendale Americana...we saw Jay Leno!

WICKED!  So amazing...best play I've ever seen!

Ugly Sweater cake...

Chrismakkuh...

My 30th birthday was the best yet.  Turning 30, as cheesy as it sounds, actually is a milestone.  My 20's were quite the ride and I never thought I would say this but I am welcoming my 3rd decade with open arms. Turning 30 is about recognizing the positive, leaving the negativity behind and looking forward.  I celebrated for a week straight and AFG took me to Vegas.

Vegas!!!
view from our Planet Hollywood suite

Peep Show with HOLLY MADISON :) front row!

Birthday breakfast...mimosas and a coconut cupcake!  I only drink the classiest of champagne.

Gondola ride to look at the lights in Huntington Beach...
